    Over the years, we have seen the growth of Chinese car companies. Some top Chinese car brands have entered the road in America. Many legendary car brands and marques were purchased by car companies in China. For example, MG Rover Group were purchased by Nanjing Automobile Group, one of the oldest car manufacturers in China. Correspondingly, we have also seen China car makers are rebuilding a few iconic cars such as the iconic Mini Moke. Other than the look, the mechanicals for the new Mini Moke are all Chery components from Chery Automobile Co Ltd, a state-owned car company and also seventh-largest automaker in China.

    Although there are still many Chinese cars failed the crash test and US emissions, some of them are selling very well in Asian countries, Europe as well as UAE. Let’s see what the top 10 Chinese car brands are.

    Hongqi is one of the most popular Chinese car brands in China that famous for its luxury cars. It was founded in 1958 with headquarters in Changchun, China. Currently, Hongqi is a car marque owned by FAW Car Company. 1958 Hongqi CA72, 2015 Hongqi H7 and 2014 Hongqi L5 are a few notable cars from Hongqi.

    2. Changan

    Changan is considered as one of the “Big Four” Chinese car companies with millions of vehicles sold in the past 5 years. Changan was founded in 1862 and it is now headquartered in Chongqing, China. Currently, Changan Alsvin, Changan Benni, Changan CX30, Changan Eado, Changan Raeton, Changan Z-Shine and Changan CS75 are a few popular cars in the market.

    Geely is a well-known Chinese car companies headquartered in Hangzhou, China. It was founded in 1986. This Chinese company owned Volvo Cars since 2010 and The London Taxi Company since 2012. As one of the biggest car makers in China, you can see Geely vehicles sold in Australia, Brazil, Colombia Indonesia, Iran, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, Uruguay and others.

    5. Chery

    Chery was founded in 1997 and it has been top Chinese car exporter since 2003. With nearly two decades in the automobile industry, it is no longer an unfamiliar brand in the United States. Today, the company has a customer service network across at least 31 provinces in China. Chery QQ, Chery Tiggo, Chery Eastar and Chery Arrizo are a few notable cars from the marque.

    Great Wall Motors was founded in 1984 and headquartered in Baoding, Hebei, China. Whenever a China consumer think about buying a pickup truck or SUV, they will think about Great Wall because it is the largest SUV manufacturer in China.     Other than Changan, Dongfeng is also one of the “Big Four”. It was founded in 1969 with the headquarters at Wuhan, Hubei, China. In 2012, the net income is US$1.3 billion. In 2014, Dongfeng manufactured over 3.5 million vehicles, making it the second-largest Chinese car brands.

    Changhe, officially Jiangxi Changhe Autombile Co Ltd, is one of the renowned Chinese car companies based in Jiangxi province, China. It is a subsidiary of BAIC Group, Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd but it also has a few best-selling cars which are Changhe Ideal 2, Changhe Ling Wang and Changhe Haitun.

    10. Zotye

    Zotye was established in 2005 in Zhejiang province, China. Zotye 5008 was the first car released by Zotye in 2008. Since then Zotye released a few more cars such as the Zotye M300 in 2009, Zotye Z100, Zotye, T200, Zotye T600, Zotye V10, Zotye Z500 and more.
