  • New Honda HR-V e:HEV Hybrid Car

This is a 2022 all-new Honda HR-V e:HEV EL Hybrid car. The selling price in Thailand is 1,079,000 baht (appoximately 93,000 TWD and RM136,000 Ringgit Malaysia). We are viewing this car at the 43rd Bangkok International Motor Show. The Thai market HR-V is only available with a hybrid powertrain and that means no petrol version is available here. It’s very interesting as many countries only receive this car in petrol version but not hybrid version.

Honda has redesigned the front grille for the new 2022 HR-V e:HEV. It’s totally different with the previous generation. The standard kit includes new LED healights with LED daytime running lights. The futuristic look makes many people thought this is a full-electric by looking at it’s exterior. Feature wise, this car is equipped with Honda Sensing system as standard, offering adaptive cruise control with low speed follow. Under the hood, it uses a 1.5 litre engine and two electric motors. This hybrid powertrain develops 131 PS and 253 Nm of torque.

The interior of this HR-V e:HEV are wrapped with leather. An 8” Advanced Touch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard equipment. The button for the AC and fan is similar to the previous generation. It didn’t change much since the HR-V was first introduced. Seat material is leather and synthetic leather. Just like the previous generation, Honda still no plans to put an automatic seat for this car. Check out a detail review via the video below if you want to know more about the new Honda HR-V e:HEV.

If you are planning to buy the latest supercar from Lamborghini, it is time to break your piggy bank and see how much savings you have because Lamborghini is launching a super supercar – the Lamborghini Veneno. None of the supercar makers have the idea to build an ultimate sports car like Lamborghini does. The Lamborghini Veneno is supposed to be launched at the upcoming 83rd Geneva International Motor Show which will be held on 7-17 March, 2013. Lamborghini Veneno
    Lamborghini Veneno

The Veneno was built to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary (Lamborghini was founded on 30 October 1963). From the leaked images, we believe the car shares the same chassis with Lamborghini Aventador. Thanks to some information collected from Autogen, we came to know that the Veneno is powered by a 6.5-liter V-12 engine associated to a 7-speed automatic manual transmission. This combination has the capability to push the car up to a top speed of 220 mph (354.056 km/h). Perhaps we will have to update the record of fastest car in the world once this car went into production. Up to date, such an ultimate sports car has received three bookings before it goes into production. According to some other sources, the three pre-booked Lamborghini Veneno will be in red, white, or green touches to match the Italian flag. As for the price tag, the Veneno is priced at $4 million. If you are planning to buy one, it is time to add more money to your piggy bank before you break it. More pictures and specifications of the car will be updated soon.

  • BMW X1 sDrive20d Review

The BMW X1 sDrive20d was first introduced by BMW in 2009 and it gained a very high popularity in Europe. In recent years, it is getting more and more popular and it has reached the U.S. and Asian market due to the luxury outlook, comfortable interior design, and satisfied performance. We stand a chance to put our hands on the latest 2012 model at the 2012 Motor Show after the car has been launched for three years. Now we are going to share every little bit of this rear-wheel-drive diesel-powered compact crossover SUV from head to toe.

A view from far, the BMW X1 looks smaller and shorter when it stands beside the BMW X3 but the performance is very much related to both the 1 Series and 3 Series especially its handling thanks to its short height at only 61 inches. Overall, it looks like a big-short-small man. However, this doesn’t sacrifices any space in the cabin. The X1 offers a comfortable cabin that sits five adults contentedly.

    Engine and Performance

The BMW X1 sDrive20d is powered by a 1,995cc four-cylinder engine producing a maximum output of 177 hp at 4,000 rpm and 350 Nm of torque at 1,750-3000rpm (Now, you can see what is horsepower and torque in a car?). This power has allowed the X1 sDrive20d the capability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and continuously to a top speed of 205 km/h. All it takes is 29.3 seconds to accelerate from a standstill position to 1 km. Partnered with a six-speed automatic transmission, the BMW X1 give a smooth and responsive handling. Drivers will get the “instant power” feeling when they step on the accelerator. There is another version of the X1 sDrive which is the sDrive18i. With 150hp/200 Nm of torque engine under the hood, the sDrive18i accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds.

Underneath, a set of lightweight allow wheels add an expressive touch to the car. Coupled with the car chassis, it provides an optimal suspension comfort. The wheels look fantastic but they also feel incredible.

    Interior

    BMW X1 Interior
When our crews sit into the car, it doesn’t really feel like a compact car. The roomy cabin feels like a sedan and we almost forgot we are viewing the X1 but not the X3. It is definitely a pleasure to be in. Take two steps to the rear seats, the space is generous. Legroom is huge enough for tall person. When buying a BMW, it is always more than just buying a car. Take the X1 sDrive20d for example. It features a lot of technology that other cars may not have such as the anti-dazzle function for the rearview mirror, Bluetooh and USB compatibility function for the sound system, automatic wiper (rain detector), cruise control, keyless system, semi command sitting position, one button stop/start technology, shift light, parking radar and sensors, etc.

    BMW X1 legroom
BMW X1 sDrive20d rear seat legroom

At the back of the car, there is a Mini TV player where rear passengers can connect many devices to it through AV Input or USB port. Rear passengers can also have two separate headsets if some other passengers is taking their rest during a long journey drive.

As for the cargo space, the 420 liters of storage space is relatively huge for many large items as you can see from the photos. It can be increased to 480 liters with the back seats pulled a little to the front and up to 1350 liters with the back seats folded. If that is not enough, the multi-functional BMW roof carrier rack system is capable to carry more items especially bicycle. The roof carrier rack system is made of high-strength aluminum alloy which is durable and corrosion-proof. So we say the new X1 is an ideal crossover SUV that is suitable for those who love travel.

    Fuel Economy

The BMW X1 sDrive20d diesel engine is typically fuel efficient, with an official combined fuel economy of 16.4 km/l (38.57 mpg). The tank capacity is approximately 61 liter and the CO2 emissions are rated at 160 g/km which is considered eco-friendly. As for the X1 sDrive18i, it has a combined fuel economy of 11.9 km/l (28 mpg).

  • Nissan Leaf: Electric Car With No Gas Needed

    Nissan Leaf Electric Car

Nissan Leaf is believed the world’s first affordable electric car. No emission, no exhaust tailpipe, and no gasoline is needed. We say “the” is because Nissan Leaf is currently the one and only practical electric car available in the automobile market today. From the exterior, the Leaf looks like an ordinary gasoline-powered car. The only thing couldn’t find from the exterior is the exhaust tailpipe and gas cap. Let’s forget about our ordinary car reviews. Today, we will talk about LEAF – Leading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable, and Family car.

    Nissan Leaf Electric Motor
Nissan Leaf Electric Motor – It looks like an ordinary combustion engine but it has 100 miles range per charge.

Leading: The five-door hatchback electric car was first introduced in Japan and the U.S two years ago in 2010. Technology find in the Leaf is relatively new. It is powered by an advanced 80kW AC synchronous electric motor that can go an estimated 100 miles range on a single charge without need a single drop of gas. The AC electric motor produces 107hp and 207 lb-ft of torque that makes the car fun to drive and easy to handle. The replacement of the electric motor with traditional gasoline-powered engine brings a brand new driving experience – quiet and smooth drive without any vibration or noise from the engine. Nissan LEAF uses 48 lithium ion battery modules which provide more power and with less weight compared to nickel-metal hydride batteries that is commonly used in hybrid cars. These batteries are stored under the floor boards and nicely hidden in order to create more space for the cabin. The reduced battery weight and the entire design of the car allow it to accelerate up to an impressive top speed of 90mph.

Environmentally friendly: Nissan Leaf owners no longer need to stop at any gas station to fill up. Their house is the best charging station. With no combustion needed to power the car, it produces zero emission and definitely an environmentally friendly eco car. There will not be any air pollution if everyone in the town is driving a Leaf.

Affordable: With no gasoline needed in the future, Nissan Leaf is starting at $35,200 MSRP for the basic SV model. Consumer can also go for Nissan Leaf SL model which starting at $37,250 MSRP. The SL model has everything SV model features but it comes with extra features such as quick charge port, fog light, RearView Monitor System, Photovoltaic solar-panel rear spoiler, and cargo cover. One major concern electric car owners always have is the battery lifespan. Nissan USA provides 36-month/36,000-mile basic coverage and an 8-year guarantee or 100,000 miles Lithium-Ion Battery coverage. Yes, that’s eight years on the battery itself. That’s why we said it is affordable!

Family car: Nissan Leaf or The Electric Car has a spacious cabin to carry five adults comfortably. Second row is design to fit 3 passengers. Legroom at the back is roomy even for tall passengers. Once again, it is an affordable electric-powered family car.
    Nissan Leaf Cargo
Nissan Leaf Cargo – The space can fit the sixth passenger!

    Fuel Economy Electric Economy

The EPA estimates Nissan LEAF has the equivalent of 92 mpg highway and 106 mpg city. The amount is currently one of the best cars consumers are able to get in the market.

How much is a Nissan Leaf in Japan?

The price of the Nissan Leaf electric car inJapanstarts at ¥3.76 million (approximately US$47,000 as of August 2012).

Nissan Leaf’s competitor or similar cars

Nissan Townpod Concept, Citroen C-Zero, Mitsubishi I MiEV, Chevrolet Volt, Honda Fit EV, Ford Focus Electric, Tesla Model S, Coda Sedan, and Ford Th!nk.

    Conclusion

Most important, Nissan Leaf is the first mass produced electric car that anyone and everyone can buy. What else to expect? If your choice is electric car, go ahead, we will vote for the Nissan LEAF for sure.
